Six Years Ago Today: My Meeting With Pastor Wang Yi Before His Imprisonment

Six years ago today, I sat with Pastor Wang Yi in China, just two days before his unjust imprisonment for his steadfast faith in Christ—a 10–year sentence he continues to endure. His family remains under surveillance, restricted in their movements.
Pastor Wang Yi of Early Rain Church has been in prison since December 9, 2018.
Despite these hardships, the underground church in China continues to grow and thrive, much like the early church flourished under persecution. “But the word of God increased and multiplied” (Acts 12:24).
Over the past six years, Pathway Learning’s innovative platform has continued providing the practical training and tools these church leaders need. Even amidst significant challenges, this work continues to bring hope and lasting change.
