Most of life and ministry is the process, not the product. Lasting joy comes only when you learn how to find joy in the process, not just the product. It's very easy for church leaders to be living, most of the time, for another day in the future, for the product or the accomplishment of your next ministry milestone. It’s the "I'll be happy when..." syndrome. All the while, you don't realize that you're failing to enjoy the people and the ministry process of how you're getting there.

In this lesson, you’ll learn the meaning and application of Elizabeth Elliott's famous challenge, "Don't let your living for tomorrow slay your living for today."

You'll be equipped to:

  • Understand the difference between product living and process living

  • Guard against the temptation of jealousy towards other ministries

  • Identify the fleeting satisfaction that is found in ministry milestones

  • Explain how living for the next accomplishment can be detrimental

  • Grasp how the process of ministry can be more enjoyable than the product

  • Learn how to find joy in the process of ministry and not just the product
