Prayer must be a top priority when planting and developing a healthy church. A common mistake made in church ministry is relying illegitimately on your own abilities to develop the church - trusting in ministry methods and strategies rather than trusting in the Lord through prayer.

In this lesson, you’ll learn that when you face trials and difficulties in ministry, those are times God is calling you to pray.

Learning Goals

You’ll be equipped to:

  • Understand the relationship between trials and prayer in ministry

  • Acknowledge your natural response to suffering and trials

  • Pray with greater confidence knowing that God answers prayer

  • Describe the response to fear and anxiety that God calls us to

  • Identify promises God makes to people who humbly pray to him

  • Construct a biblical understanding of God’s promise of deliverance
