Persecuted Early Rain Church Elder, Family Harassed and Threatened After Return to Chengdu
In December 2018, Elder Li Yingqiang of Early Rain Covenant Church was arrested with Pastor Wang Yi and other leaders and jailed for 8 months in Chengdu, China. Li was then released on probation for one year, during which time he was required to leave Chengdu and live in his hometown. Learn what happened next.
Persecuted Imprisoned Chinese Pastor Wang Yi Transferred to Unknown Prison
According to a member of the persecuted Early Rain Church in Chengdu, their imprisoned pastor Wang Yi was recently transferred from his incarceration in Chengdu to a prison, but Wang’s family has not been told the location.
Early Rain Covenant Church Elder Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Elder Qin Defu's trial was held last week at the Chengdu Qingyang District People's Court. He was charged with "illegal business operations" for his service at the church, which included providing books and printed resources for church members and printing and distributing hymnals. On November 29, he was sentenced to four years in prison, leaving behind a wife and two young children

On December 9th, 2018, Chinese authorities arrested more than 100 members of Early Rain Covenant Church (秋雨圣约教会) in Chengdu, China. Some members were interrogated at the police station and then released, while others were imprisoned.
